Grub: Florence

Hangry? We've got you covered.

Secret Bakery

Got a sweet tooth? Florence’s secret bakeries are a MUST after a night out on the town. They open around 1am, and if you knock on the back door and remain silent, the bakers will give you warm croissants and donuts that they are working on for the next morning. They’re just €1, and you can get them with chocolate or Nutella on them as well. If you’re looking for the perfect snack after a night out, head to the secret bakery near Red Garter. Once you reach the signature frosted glass door, you’re in the right place. Additionally, there is a secret bakery near Hostel PLUS Florence that I’ve marked on the map. This is known to be the friendliest of the secret bakeries, and the only one that sells mini-pizzas as well. REMEMBER: Keep quiet, have your money ready, and don’t arrive before 1:00am!

Mesopotamia Kebabs

Did you ever really go out in Europe if you didn’t put down a doner kebab at 3am? If you’re new to kebabs or to Florence, let Meso introduce you. Known for having the best kebabs in Florence, Mesopotamia Kebabs is open late and is centrally located.

El Chico

If kebabs aren’t your thing or you’re simply looking to mix it up, El Chico offers one of the best late-night burritos around. Like Meso, El Chico is in a great location near all of your favorite Florence hotpsots. Let El Chico end the Moe’s vs. Chipotle debate at any hour - it doesn’t close unti 4am on the weekends.
